Department of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies Faculty of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies
Biologically, humans are born as "humans" and become "human" through culture. Humans are the only creatures with a highly developed "culture." On the other hand, there is no human existence without culture. Today, we live in an age of globalization, with cultures that have developed in various countries and regions fusing together or developing more uniquely. In this age, Department of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies at Yamanashi Eiwa College aims to learn the basics of understanding human culture by broadly and deeply studying and mastering the understanding and expression of language, the acquisition of methods for transmitting information (communication skills), and an understanding of the human mind. We have adopted the name "Human Culture Studies" to encompass all of these, and have established the Faculty of Department of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies Faculty of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies (one faculty, one department).

Yamanashi Eiwa College Graduate School
vision
While many people enjoy the benefits of highly developed scientific and technological civilization in our modern age, social anxiety is also growing as the discrepancy between human mental activities and science and technology becomes apparent. Based on this recognition, Yamanashi Eiwa College has established a clinical psychology major in its graduate school in order to train personnel who not only academically explore "Studies in Clinical Psychology" but also provide very concrete support to "people who are troubled by mental issues." Yamanashi Eiwa University is the only university in Yamanashi Prefecture that has Studies in Clinical Psychology in its graduate school. In an era in which mental care will be increasingly needed in the future, the significance of this major and the demand from society are becoming even greater. The fact that this major is positioned as a major in the Graduate Graduate school of Human Sciences means that the research field of clinical psychology can never be separated from "human culture." It is impossible to deeply understand the human mind without a deep understanding of human culture.
