Students will undergo clinical psychology training at university-affiliated psychological clinical centers, educational institutions and medical facilities both within and outside Yamanashi Prefecture.
For clinical psychology training, we have affiliated facilities outside the school, such as support facilities for students who are not well adjusted to school, high schools, junior high schools, and hospitals with psychiatric and neurological departments. At the on-campus training facilities, under the guidance of a supervisor, students learn about intake interviews and assessments, case assessments, and the planning of provisional treatment methods, and develop the ability to view cases from multiple angles.

Students can undergo comprehensive training at the Psychological Clinical Center, an affiliated counseling institution located on the university campus.
There are three opportunities for practical client contact:
You will attend the first interview conducted by a qualified staff member as a recorder and learn how to conduct an interview. By the time you complete the course, you will be able to attend at least two cases.
You will be in charge of administering psychological tests in cases where they are deemed necessary. By the time you complete the course, you will be able to administer one minimum intelligence test and one projective test.
Experienced and qualified individuals (mainly faculty members) review cases from a third-party perspective, point out things that may be difficult to see from the individual's perspective, and provide advice on how to proceed with the case. Our university has 14 full-time faculty members and part-time counselors who are qualified clinical psychologists to support graduate students in their training.
Individual guidance on creating presentation materials for cases where you are presenting at the first interview
Participants will receive individual guidance on how to prepare presentation materials for the first interview cases they attended at a conference. They will also learn about the format for presenting cases.
Individual guidance on performing tests and writing findings
When we are in charge of an examination, we provide careful individual guidance when it comes to organizing the results, examining them, and summarizing findings.
Individual guidance on ongoing cases
We provide individual guidance on the relationship with the case you are assigned to. Each person can receive guidance on each interview from a supervisor of their choice.
All qualified full-time faculty members, part-time counselors, and graduate students participate in the course to assess cases for initial interviews, determine support policies, and conduct detailed reviews of continuing cases. By hearing multiple opinions and advice, it is possible to examine cases from a wide range of perspectives. This course is set up as a "clinical psychology case study" class.
Participants will be responsible for moderating and recording the conference, and will gain hands-on experience in learning how to manage and conduct case study meetings.
Presentation of the first interview case
Participants will present the first interview case they attended. They will develop the ability to present at case study meetings and to communicate the details of the case to others.
Reporting and review of test findings
Report on the findings of the tests you have performed.
Reporting and review of ongoing cases
Participants will give a presentation on ongoing cases they are in charge of, aiming to view the cases from multiple perspectives based on multiple opinions and advice.
