This is a guide to the pre-interview session required for the comprehensive selection exam. This is for third-year high school students (exam candidates).

If you are thinking of taking the comprehensive selection exam, please join us. You will receive the best possible preparation for the actual interview exam.

 

The comprehensive pre-selection interview session will be held as part of the Open Campus (Afternoon Program).

  • This is the earliest entrance exam at Yamanashi Eiwa University, and you can aim to pass by the end of the year.
  • Applications open in September and exams begin in October.
  • This is an interactive entrance exam that will match you with Yamanashi Eiwa University and test your motivation to enroll.
  • A distinctive feature of this program is that a pre-interview is always held before application, and preparation is made for the actual interview test.
  • There are three assessment types, so you can apply based on your areas of expertise.
  • The main selection method is a topic-based essay and an interview.

Comprehensive Selection Pre-Interview Q&A

 

Q: What is a pre-interview?

A. This is to confirm whether your reasons for applying match the learning opportunities at Yamanashi Eiwa University.

Think of it as "practicing an interview in preparation for the interview."

  
Q. How is the pre-interview conducted?

A. Interviews will be conducted face-to-face, one by one. Two faculty members will be assigned to each applicant. The interview time will be approximately 30 minutes.

Q. What is the "Pre-interview sheet"? What should I write?

A. It's like an application form that you can refer to during the pre-interview.

 

    
Q. What questions will I be asked during the pre-interview?

A. You will mainly be asked about your reasons for applying.

For example, what academic fields are available at Yamanashi Eiwa University, and how would you like to study them? What aspects of the university's founding philosophy and admissions policy resonate with you?

You will also be asked about yourself. It would be a good idea to be prepared to talk about your high school life and your future goals in your own words. During the interview, your teacher may give you some advice.

 

Q. What happens after the preliminary interview is over?

A. Go to the next step ① or ②.

① If it is determined that your reasons for applying are clear and that your studies at Yamanashi Eiwa University are a good fit, you will be issued a Pre-Interview Completion Certificate certifying this. Please proceed with your application preparations.

② If it is determined that you would like to prepare a little more before the interview, you can take the second interview by making use of the experience from the first interview. After the second interview, you will be issued a [Pre-interview Completion Certificate]. Please proceed with the preparations for your application.
