vision

Yamanashi Eiwa University aims to become a truly international university. This does not mean simply accepting students from a variety of countries and regions. Our university transcends differences of nationality and ethnicity, always thinking from an international perspective, while keeping a firm grasp on our own foundations and working closely with the local community. With a deep understanding of humanity rooted in Christian principles, we aim to produce talented individuals who will contribute to world peace and stability.

Biologically, humans are born as "humans" and become "human" through culture. Humans are the only creatures with a highly developed "culture." On the other hand, there is no human existence without culture. Today, we live in an age of globalization, with cultures that have developed in various countries and regions either merging or developing more uniquely. In this age, Department of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies at Yamanashi Eiwa University aims to teach the fundamentals of understanding human culture by broadly and deeply studying and mastering language comprehension and expression methods, methods of conveying information (communication skills), and an understanding of the human mind. These are all encompassed under the name "Human Culture Studies," and the Department of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies Faculty of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies (one faculty, one department) has been established.

Diploma Policy

Students who have completed the required credits in the Humanities and Cultures curriculum and possess the following abilities and qualities will be certified to graduate and awarded a degree.

  1. Students will acquire broad-based liberal arts and systematic knowledge related to human cultural studies, and be able to tackle problems based on multifaceted, logical judgment.
  2. Be able to express one's own thoughts in a variety of ways while understanding others and achieve smooth communication.
  3. They can accept diverse cultures and values, and contribute to the development of the local community with the ethical standards cultivated through Christian education.
Curriculum Policy
  1. The core of the basic subjects studied in the first and second years include subjects that teach the Christian spirit, subjects that help students understand themselves and others, and subjects that help them understand the local community, as well as practically acquiring advanced fluency in areas such as creativity, cooperation, communication, and ICT, which serve as the foundation for understanding human culture.
  2. In the second and third years, students will build on the fluency they have acquired and systematically study the following three specialized fields that make up the Human Cultural Studies curriculum:
    • Psychological Services: Aiming to become a psychological expert who understands the mind and supports people
    • Global Studies: Looking at Japan and the world from a global perspective, aiming to become a truly international person
    • Media Science: Aiming to become creators and innovators who create new value using ICT
  3. In the third and fourth years, students study subjects such as "specialized seminars" and "graduation projects" that delve deeply into their specialized fields, as well as interdisciplinary subjects that allow them to study human cultural studies across the board.
  4. In addition, we offer "open courses" that allow students to acquire a broad range of knowledge and improve themselves over the four years of their studies.
    In addition, we position both on and off campus as learning fields, and use both the quarter and semester systems to promote off-campus learning activities. Fieldwork and active learning are actively incorporated into classes, and student-centered education is provided throughout the curriculum, fostering fluency in various fields.
Admission Policy

Yamanashi Eiwa University 's motto is "Respect for God God, Love for Others People, and Self-Self Development." We sincerely address this motto, which stems from the Christian-based founding spirit of the university, and the role of a university in the modern era, and conduct education and research activities as a university rooted in the local community. Today, while many people are enjoying the benefits of a highly developed scientific and technological civilization, we are also living in an age of amplified social unrest due to the surfacing of discrepancies with the spiritual activities of people. Yamanashi Eiwa University Based on this recognition, the Graduate School of Psychology (Studies in Clinical Psychology) has been established to foster human resources who not only academically explore "human psychology" but also practice very concrete support for "people with mental anxieties". We are the only university in Yamanashi Prefecture that has a graduate school Studies in Clinical Psychology. In an age when mental health care is increasingly needed, the significance of the department's existence and the demands of society are becoming even greater. The fact that this department is positioned as a major in the graduate school Graduate school of Human Sciences means that the research field of clinical psychology can never be separated from "human culture. Without a deep understanding of human culture, there can be no deep understanding of the human mind.

Diploma Policy

The Graduate Graduate school of Human Sciences Yamanashi Eiwa University (Studies in Clinical Psychology) certifies students who have completed the required number of credits in a curriculum primarily aimed at training clinical psychology specialists, and who have passed the master's thesis review and final examination, thereby demonstrating the abilities and qualities listed below, and awards them a degree.

  1. Students will have a self-motivated attitude to continue learning and have subjects to study even after graduating from this graduate school.
  2. They have an interpersonal approach that focuses on both individuals and groups, and understand that their role is to provide interpersonal assistance by interacting with people with respect, humility and sincerity, while making the most of them.
  3. They have the practical ability to determine appropriate assistance and intervention in any clinical field, including medicine, education, industry, welfare, and the legal system, and to implement them in collaboration with local specialist institutions.
  4. Possess the knowledge and methods to investigate and study issues in the workplace based on psychological methods and perspectives, and to provide proposals for solutions.
  5. They have the power to educate people in schools, communities, companies, etc. about the importance of mental health for prevention.
  6. As a clinician, I have a view of life and death based on Christian principles, and I am able to utilize this in my clinical interactions, particularly in the areas of palliative care and assistance for the elderly, which involve issues facing death.
Curriculum Policy

In order to achieve its educational objectives, the Graduate Graduate school of Human Sciences (Studies in Clinical Psychology) at Yamanashi Eiwa University University meets the standards for establishing graduate schools, the conditions for designation as a "Type 1 Designated Graduate School for Clinical Psychologists" by the Japan Clinical Psychologist Certification Board, and the subject requirements set out in Article 2 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Certified Psychologist Act, based on the Certified Psychologist Act, and has organized its curriculum to ensure continuity with undergraduate learning.

  1. The courses offered are divided into three groups: "Core Subjects" in which students learn key knowledge along with technical theories; "Clinical Subjects" in which students are primarily trained in clinical practice; and "Research Subjects" in which students learn methods for investigation and research.
  2. Because clinical psychology is a practical science, we offer courses that allow students to learn many theoretical subjects in a way that relates them to practical techniques.
  3. We conduct classes that encourage active participation by students, allowing them to discover problems in the real world, search for literature and materials, and report on their findings through research and discussion with faculty.
  4. We offer classes that provide a broad, multifaceted perspective on the entire field, as well as classes that aim to understand the uniqueness of individuals by delving deeply into the human mind.
  5. We provide knowledge of research methods that will enable students to identify problems and carry out research so that they can be active in the real world not only as practitioners but also as researchers.
  6. We offer classes that aim to help students to reflect their Christian faith-based ethical values, such as love for their neighbors and respect for human existence, in their role as clinicians.

The Graduate Graduate school of Human Sciences Yamanashi Eiwa University University (Studies in Clinical Psychology) is based on the founding principles of human development through Christian spirituality and service to society, and its educational objective is to train highly specialized professionals who can provide clinical psychological support. We accept a wide range of people from both Japan and overseas who share this philosophy and purpose, and who:

  1. Those who wish to explore the true meaning of "mental care" through research into issues of the human mind, and who wish to deepen their own self-improvement while also endeavoring to support the minds of others.
  2. Those who wish to utilize the knowledge, techniques, interpersonal and social attitudes, and empathetic understanding skills acquired through the curriculum offered by this graduate school to obtain qualifications as clinical psychologists or licensed psychologists and contribute to society as professional professionals.
  3. Those who wish to acquire the social skills to tackle problems, conduct research, and make proposals independently, as well as the duties expected of a clinical psychologist, through self-study through the curriculum offered by this graduate school.
  4. Those who wish to practice "love for one's neighbor, existing together with others in spirit" in order to embody the founding ideals of the school based on a philosophy rooted in Christianity.
