If you are injured while commuting to or at school (Joining Yamanashi Eiwa University Safety Association)

All students will join the Yamanashi Eiwa University Safety Association.

At Yamanashi Eiwa University, we have established the Yamanashi Eiwa University Safety Association to provide necessary benefits (excluding illness) for accidents incurred during regular curriculum, educational and research activities such as school events, and while commuting to school. All new students join the association at the time of paying tuition and pay insurance premiums until graduation. Students can receive benefits for accidents incurred by students from the Student Education and Research Accident Insurance/Commuting Accident Risk Coverage Special Clause (Gakkensai) which the university subscribes to and which is managed by the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (a public interest incorporated foundation) and Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. However, if, due to circumstances, benefits cannot be received from Gakkensai, a portion of medical expenses will be covered by the Yamanashi Eiwa University Safety Association.

Prevention of infectious diseases in schools

The School Health and Safety Act (including its Enforcement Order and Enforcement Regulations) stipulates the types of "infectious diseases that must be prevented in schools" (hereinafter referred to as "school infectious diseases"), as well as measures necessary to prevent infection within schools, such as suspension of attendance for students who contract a school infectious disease and the period of suspension.
In accordance with this law, students who contract a school-related infectious disease are not permitted to enter the university until the suspension period has elapsed in order to prevent infection on campus. Please refrain from coming to campus for the period instructed by your doctor and focus on recuperating.

*For the types of school infectious diseases and suspension periods, please see here.
