This program is a part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Mathematics, Data Science and AI Education Program Certification System (Literacy Level)" for fiscal year 2023 (Reiwa 5).

Cultivate the basic knowledge to develop an interest in mathematics, data science, and AI, and to be able to use them appropriately to solve problems.

 

Features

• The program will provide learning support through student assistants in the compulsory subjects "ICT Skills 1 & 2" and "Data Science 1 & 2."
• All students provided with a MacBook Air
• Interactive education using Google Classroom in all subjects

 

Learning outcomes

• Acquire the ability to understand the role of data and society in modern society and discuss its importance.
• Acquire basic techniques for handling data and be able to perform appropriate analysis using statistical methods.
• Understand the basic principles of AI, learn how it is actually used, and acquire the ability to discuss how it can be used in the future.

Class methods and contents

Core coursework in the Data Science program includes:

 

• In "ICT Skills 1 & 2," students will learn about the characteristics of future society, such as Society 5.0, and deepen their understanding by researching and presenting examples of AI applications. In addition, students will master the fundamentals of data analysis through group work on the acquisition, compilation, and analysis of open data.
• In "Data Science 1 and 2," students will learn basic statistics and practice data analysis using R.
