Peace Studies: The background and resolution of conflicts in the Middle East. Do you think these conflicts can be resolved peacefully?
In conclusion, starting a conflict and launching missiles at the opposing country will never bring peace. You try to satisfy your desires by defeating the other side, but those desires will never be fulfilled. There is a saying in the Bible, "All who take up the sword will perish by the sword" (Matthew 26:52).
However, humans have been fighting since primitive times. Looking at the history of the Middle East, it was the Persian king (Islam) who liberated the Israelites (Jews) from captivity in Babylon. He even built a temple for the Jews in Jerusalem. Furthermore, European Renaissance culture was greatly influenced by Islam.
Until 1979, both Israel and the United States had political and cultural exchanges with Iran. Then, the Iranian Revolution occurred in 1979, and the situation changed completely. How should we understand the current conflict in the Middle East? And what can be done to achieve peace in this region? I would like to think about these questions together with you.
