What makes the research interesting?I am currently researching social and family issues that are close to home to me as a person living in the city. In particular, I am researching childcare and childcare support, which has recently become an issue of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of fathers, and the work-life balance of working mothers. I am also researching educational disparities, and international comparisons between Japan and China regarding late marriage and unmarried people.
The research topics of the seminar students I supervised included young people's attitudes towards marriage, ways of dealing with LGBT children and students in school education, school bullying, and mothers' concerns about child-rearing and child-rearing support.
