| Research content and themes of interest | For over a decade since my late 30s, I have been involved in emergency assistance and reconstruction development after conflicts and disasters, working with various international organizations and learning practical risk management on the ground. Currently, the world is experiencing an unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak, and measures against conflicts, terrorism, cybersecurity, and other issues are needed. Globalization cannot be achieved with the mindset that you can work overseas if you can speak a foreign language. Learning risk management is necessary. Furthermore, as Japan's population declines, the number of foreign residents is on the rise, and there is a need for a global response within Japan. However, the support system for foreign residents is insufficient, and there is a need for measures to provide disaster prevention information in multiple languages in Japan, which is prone to various disasters. Recently, local governments have begun to provide multilingual information, but the reality is that this information has not yet reached foreign residents. Research into modern multicultural coexistence is required. |
| What makes the research interesting? | First of all, I would like to cooperate with international students, build a network centered on Asia, and in the future, make Yamanashi Eiwa a Little Asia Campus. I would like to learn about Asian issues through the SDGs, and since there is a possibility that Japan will expand its business network with Asia in the future, I would like to research business ideas in Asia and introduce graduates to companies active in Asia. To do this, I would like to learn not only English but also Asian languages and expand my network. |
