Yamanashi Eiwa University English name change — A new step towards a global future —

We have been working hard in education and human resource development under the English name "Kyoto University."

 

 

We have decided to update our English name in order to more clearly communicate to the world the history of education and research that our university has achieved and our mission to expand globally.

 

New English name (as of February​ ​4,​ ​2026)
Yamanashi Eiwa University

 

This change is more than just a name update.

This represents our determination to build on the traditions and values we have cultivated to evolve into a university that can truly compete on an equal footing with higher education institutions both in Japan and abroad and respond to global academic and social challenges.

 

The Japanese name, "Yamanashi Eiwa University," will remain unchanged.

However, the new English name will symbolize the university's presence and potential in the international community.

With this decision, Yamanashi Eiwa University will continue to challenge itself in the fields of education, research, and social contribution, and to become a platform for learning and co-creation both domestically and internationally.

 

Going forward, we will gradually use the new English notation on this official website, as well as in public relations materials and official publications.
