Challenge!! Open Governance (COG) 2025: A student from our university won the Silver Prize (2nd place) in the online voting for the semi-finalist category.

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the final public judging event for "Challenge!! Open Governance (COG) 2025" was held at the University of Tokyo's Asano Campus.

"Challenge!! Open Governance (COG) 2025" is a regional problem-solving contest originating from the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Public Policy, with support from the Digital Agency, the Cabinet Office, and others, aiming to create a public sphere that evolves through new collaborations between citizens and government.
Out of 63 ideas submitted from across the country, a team from our university's club, the Local Management Project, was selected as one of the 15 semi-finalists and will participate in the final public judging event.

In this final public judging event, students presented ideas for revitalizing urban areas through interaction between high school students and the local community. As a result of online voting, the idea "YAMANASHI BASE" won the Silver Prize (2nd place) in the semi-finalist online voting category.

The proposal to create a community hub that leverages local resources around Ichikawa-Honmachi Station to generate opportunities for young people to engage with the local area was highly praised.
