EducationProfessor Michihiro Nanba served as a lecturer at a training workshop for high school teachers.
On July 2, 2026, Professor Michihiro Nanba (Intelligent Information Science) Media Science, Department of Human Sciences and Cultural Studies, served as a lecturer at a training workshop held at Mishima Minami High School as part of the Shizuoka Prefecture High School Subject "Information" Education Research Association for the 2026 academic year.
This presentation covered the current state and challenges of our ICT education program, which provides all students with a laptop computer (MacBook Air), as well as our data science education program, which has been certified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a mathematics, data science, and AI education program (literacy level). It also discussed future prospects, including the connection between high school and university information education and the design of classes and curricula that take into account the needs of businesses.
Participants asked questions about topics such as students' ICT proficiency upon entering university and the university's survey of company representatives regarding the ICT skills they expect from students. According to the organizers, the Q&A session was more active than in recent years.
