In this modern age, where you can easily search the web for anything you want to know, and don't even need a bookshelf if you read ebooks, do libraries really need to exist anymore?

Since the advent of information technology, library buildings have often been criticized as "outdated." But is the role of a library limited to lending and preserving books?

In this class, let's broaden our perspective and re-examine modern libraries from the viewpoint of "place." Your image of a "library" might change.
