The Disability Student Support Office provides consultation to students with disabilities regarding their studies and makes arrangements to ensure that they have equal opportunities to receive an education with other students.
While we cannot guarantee that you will earn credits or graduate, we will make adjustments to remove social barriers and support you in your studies.
Additionally, relevant parties within the university work together to provide direct and indirect consideration.
Students who wish to request special considerations in class or wish to inquire about such considerations should apply to the Office for Students with Disabilities.
Students who are subject to ongoing restrictions on their studies and student life due to physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental disabilities, chronic illnesses, intractable diseases, or other functional disabilities are eligible.
After submitting the necessary documents, it will take one to two months for accommodations to begin being provided.

| 2. Consult with the Disability Student Support Office |
The person in charge will explain the process and procedures for applying for accommodations. You will also be asked to talk about the degree and condition of your disability, any difficulties arising from your disability, the accommodations you have received in the past, and the type of accommodations you would like. *If you have a disability certificate or medical certificate, please bring the original or a copy. |
| 3. Submitting an Accommodations Application |
Please submit an "Application for Consideration Support" along with supporting documentation such as a copy of your disability certificate or a medical certificate. *If you are using the Student Counseling Office, you can discuss the details of your support request with a counselor from the Student Counseling Office. |
| 4. Approval of application |
The need for reasonable accommodation will be discussed at the Disability Student Support Committee.
|
| 5. Start of providing accommodations in classes |
The applicant will be given an explanation of the accommodations that have been decided upon, and once an agreement has been reached, the provision of accommodations will begin (the Disability Student Support Committee or the applicant will distribute the Accommodation Support Request Form to the faculty member in charge). *If the applicant has any objections or complaints about the request for reasonable accommodation, they can request "readjustment." |
| 6. Follow-up interview |
A follow-up interview will be conducted to confirm whether the reasonable accommodation is appropriate for the applicant's university life. We will also consider making changes or adjustments to reasonable accommodations as necessary. *The frequency of follow-up interviews will be decided together with the disability support staff depending on the applicant's situation. Interviews will be held once per quarter. |
| 7. Review |
We will review the situation at the end of each semester (first and second semester) and reconsider the measures we will take for the next semester. The person in charge will contact you after the results are announced. |
A "Class Accommodations Support Application" must be submitted each year. Please contact the Disability Student Support Office before registering for classes.
Our university has previously operated a request form system to ask for the cooperation of teachers in charge of classes, but from the 2024 academic year, we have changed to a new system that is consistent with the revised Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities. Accordingly, we have opened the "Disability Student Support Office" from April 2024.
Under the new system, the Committee for Support for Students with Disabilities will review and decide on the support details based on students' applications for special support.
The Disability Student Support Office serves as a liaison office for students and faculty and staff, responding to enquiries regarding the studies of students with disabilities and coordinating support to ensure that students with disabilities have equal opportunities to receive an education with other students.
Additionally, faculty and staff in departments related to learning will work together both inside and outside the university to provide direct and indirect support.
