SpecializationJapanese Language Education
Japanese Expressions

Research content and themes of interestJapanese language education, especially the development and deepening of teaching methods for reading comprehension materials and audiovisual materials
Japanese expressions in contemporary literature, music, anime, manga, and other subcultures

What makes the research interesting?Language is a tool for communication, but at the same time, it is also something that is related to human development and worldview.
I am particularly interested in teaching methods that deepen Japanese reading comprehension, and in the development of teaching materials for that purpose. I would like to think about how we can provide thrilling and fulfilling classes in which students make new discoveries or ask new questions every time they read a line or a paragraph; in a way that makes it seem as if their world is expanding, to put it dramatically.
