| Specialization | Intercultural understanding theory History of Japan-Korea cultural exchange History of modern Japanese and Korean thought The Asakawa Brothers, Noriyoshi and Takumi, and Yanagi Muneyoshi's Understanding of Korea |
| Research content and themes of interest | I am researching the "understanding of Korea" of the Asakawa brothers, Hakukyo and Takumi, from Yamanashi Prefecture, and the Shirakaba school's Yanagi Muneyoshi. In their method of "understanding Korea" through their real-life experiences, I aim to find a "model of intercultural understanding" that is required not only in Japan-Korea relations but also in global relations, and to present an indicator for diversifying international exchange. |
| What makes the research interesting? | I studied at universities in both Japan and Korea. And I met many friends. Getting to know, interacting with, and understanding others has also allowed me to discover something new about myself. I think that learning from books and learning through experience is the charm of learning. I would like to share with you what I have learned and experienced, and think together about "understanding" that transcends regions and countries. |
