profile	Completed doctoral studies in Comparative and Regional Culture at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of the Ryukyus. After serving as a foreign lecturer at Harbin Institute of Technology and as a part-time lecturer at Hitotsubashi University, Takushoku University, and Yamanashi Eiwa University he assumed his current position.

Research content and themes of interest	My research specializes in modern and contemporary literary works by authors from Okinawa Prefecture. I am interested in the relationship between politics and literature, such as "war and literature" and "colonialism and language."
What makes the research interesting?	<Gloomy tropical literature!> Okinawa's turbulent history and unique subtropical climate have given rise to literary works that possess a melancholic and tropical sensibility not found in Japanese literature. I enjoy studying Okinawan literature as a form of literature from a foreign land within Japan's borders!
