About Research Students

The research student system allows students to define a specific research topic and conduct research under the guidance of a full-time faculty member.

Eligibility to apply

[Undergraduate research students]

1. University graduates
2. Other individuals who are recognized as having academic ability equal to or greater than that of a university graduate.

 

[Graduate research student]

1. Those who have completed a master's course
2.Other individuals who are recognized as having academic ability equal to or greater than that of those who have completed a master's course at a graduate school.

 

* International students are not eligible to apply for either undergraduate or graduate research students.

 

 

Application Documents

1. Application form (specified by our university)
2. Resume (with photo attached)
3. Research plan (as specified by the university)
4. Graduation certificate and transcript of last school attended
5. Health certificate
6. If you are currently employed, a letter of approval from your supervisor

In addition to submitting the above documents, you must also pay the required entrance examination fee.

 

 

Research period

The research period for research students is either one semester (6 months) or one year from the beginning of the academic year. However, those who wish to continue their research may extend their research period up to a total of two years.

 

 

Supervising Academic Staff

Research students will receive guidance from their supervisor on their research topic, and with the approval of their supervisor and the instructor of the course, they may audit classes related to the research. However, they will not be able to earn credits. Before applying, students must obtain the prior consent of their desired supervisor.

 

 

Admission Procedures

Those who pass the selection process must submit the required documents and pay the required admission fee and tuition fee by the specified deadline.

Cancellation of admission

If the enrollment procedures are not completed by the specified deadline, admission may be revoked.

 

 

Payment handling

Research students must pay tuition fees equivalent to six months' worth of their intended period of study in the first month of that period.
Payments once made will not be refunded.

 

 

End of Study

Upon completing their research after enrolling for the required period, students must submit a research completion notification, including an outline of their research results, to the President via their supervisor.
A research certificate (1,000 yen per certificate) will be issued upon request by the individual.

 

 

Experiment/practical training fees, etc.

Expenses required for research, such as expenses for experiments and practical training, will be collected separately.
