CiNii Books: Search for books in university libraries National Institute of Informatics A service that allows you to search for information on books (books, magazines, etc.) held by university libraries across the country. You can search for information on over 100 million books held in approximately 1,300 university libraries across the country, which have been accumulated in the catalog location information service (NACSIS-CAT) operated by the National Institute of Informatics.
National Diet Library Search (NDL Search) National Diet Library You can search the materials held by the National Diet Library and digital materials (some of which are viewable).You can also search the materials held by public libraries, specialized libraries, and academic information institutions nationwide that have data links with the library.
National Diet Library Digital Collections National Diet Library This is a service that allows you to search and view digitized materials collected and stored by the National Diet Library. You can search and view materials whose copyright protection period has expired.
Cross-search service for searching books both in and outside Yamanashi Prefecture Yamanashi Prefectural Library Cross-searching is possible across eight university libraries in Yamanashi Prefecture (University of Yamanashi, Tsuru University of Literature, Yamanashi Gakuin University, Minobusan University, Yamanashi Prefectural University, Teikyo University of Science, Yamanashi Eiwa University), as well as public and specialized libraries in the prefecture and the National Diet Library. Karil Japan's largest library search engine Caril Co., Ltd. A service that allows you to easily search for information on library collections and lending status across the country. By selecting a place name, you can immediately check whether the book you want to read is available for lending at a nearby library. By logging in, you can also create a "reading list," write book reviews, and create "book recipes." (No login required to view)
WorldCat OCLC (Online Computer Library Center) The world's largest bibliographic database allows you to search for books, magazines, sheet music, maps, audiovisual materials, etc. You can search holdings information of over 71,000 OCLC member libraries in over 90 countries.
Aozora Bunko volunteer This is a Japanese digital library that digitizes and makes available to the public materials that are out of copyright and works that the authors have given permission to use. It has about 17,500 books available, mainly from the Meiji period to the early Showa period.
Project Gutenberg Project Gutenberg Literary Archive Foundation (PGLAF) This is a digital library that digitizes and makes available to the public materials that are no longer under copyright. It has over 75,000 books available, mainly in English, French, German, Finnish, and other languages.
Publication Bibliography Database (Books) Japan Book Publishers Association This is the publishing industry's only public database of publishing information. You can search for approximately 2.3 million paper books, e-books, and periodicals provided by publishers across Japan.
Japanese second-hand bookstores Tokyo Old Book Dealer Cooperative You can search the inventory of about 7 million books from about 1,000 second-hand bookstores that are members of the National Federation of Second-Hand Book Dealers Associations. You can search not only for books currently in circulation, but also for a wide variety of materials, such as books and scrolls that were copied before the Meiji period.
Book Town Jinbou NPO Association Publishing This is a comprehensive online book guide that introduces the charms of Kanda Jimbocho, the city of books. Not only can you search for books handled by about 50 second-hand bookstores in Jimbocho, but it also has a wealth of content such as maps and bookshelf galleries.
Super Genji Murasaki Shikibu Limited Company This is a site where you can search, buy and sell used books, audiovisual materials, sheet music, etc. You can search and purchase from over 1 million books using unique classifications such as "Search by Specialty Field" and "Feeling Classification".
National Book Database National Institute of Japanese Literature This is a database that allows you to search and use bibliographic information on materials such as classical books (books from before the Edo period) held by many institutions both in Japan and overseas, as well as the National Institute of Japanese Literature, and high-resolution images of some of these materials at once.
Toyo Keizai Digital Content Library
[In-library use]		 Toyo Keizai Inc. This is a database where you can search and view back issues of "Weekly Toyo Keizai." Articles from the print version of "Weekly Toyo Keizai" held in the main library can be viewed from the January 4, 1997 issue (No. 5395). *Please come to the counter if you wish to use this service.

CiNii Research National Institute of Informatics From a simple interface, users can easily perform cross-sectional searches that include not only literature from domestic and international academic journals, but also research data from external collaborating organizations, institutional repositories, and KAKEN research project information.
J-STAGE Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) This is an electronic journal platform that provides over 4,000 journals, conference proceedings, and other publications from over 2,400 publishing organizations in Japan. Over 90% of the published articles can be viewed free of charge.

[In-library use]		 NPO Central Medical Journal Publishing Association This is a service that provides comprehensive information on medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and related fields in Japan. You can view bibliographic information and abstract information of papers. *Please come to the counter if you would like to use this service.
Google Scholar Google This is a search engine specialized in academic information that anyone can use. It allows users to search for academic materials in a variety of fields, including articles published in academic journals, preprints (papers before peer review), books, and abstracts.
Index of English Language Editorial Materials (CD-ROM) [For in-library use] Editorial Materials Preservation Society You can search for the title, author, original journal, and issue number/volume of all articles published from the first issue to issue 42 (1965-2008). *If you would like to use this service, please come to the counter. Issues 6 to 44 are in stock.
NII-REO (OJA) National Institute of Informatics You can cross-search the electronic journals and other content of each publisher and view bibliographic information and abstracts.
Database of Japanese Literature and Archival Studies Papers National Institute of Japanese Literature You can search for information on papers published in magazines, journals, books (collections of papers), etc. related to Japanese literature from the Meiji period through to the Heisei period.
CiNii Dissertations National Institute of Informatics This is a service that allows you to search for information on doctoral dissertations awarded by domestic universities and the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Assurance, an independent administrative institution. You can centrally search for doctoral dissertations published in the repositories of domestic universities and other academic institutions, as well as doctoral dissertations held by the National Diet Library.
IRBD (Institutional Repositories DataBase) National Institute of Informatics This is a database service that collects and provides metadata for content registered in Japan's academic institutional repositories (open access systems that store and publish digital works from universities and other institutions).
Jxiv Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) This is the first full-scale preprint server in Japan that provides open access to pre-peer-reviewed papers (preprints) before publication. Preprints in all research fields, including natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary sciences, are available in either Japanese or English.
PubMed National Center for Biotechnology Information You can search through over 37 million articles published in medical journals (including nursing, health science, and caregiving) from around the world, some of which are available for viewing. Preprints are also available.
DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) Infrastructure Services for Open Access (IS4OA) DOAJ (Open Access Journal Directory) allows users to search, browse, and download open access journals and their articles in various fields. It is run by IS4OA, a non-profit charity in the UK.

e-Stat: A comprehensive portal for government statistics Independent Administrative Institution Statistics Center This is a portal site for government statistics that began operation in 2008 based on the "Operation and System Optimization Plan for Statistical Surveys and Other Operations" decided at the Liaison Meeting of Chief Information Officers (CIOs) of each ministry and agency.

e-Gov Law Search Digital Agency The website provides data on laws and regulations confirmed by each ministry and agency regarding the Constitution, laws, cabinet orders, imperial ordinances, prefectural and ministerial ordinances, and regulations. For data on laws and regulations that have not yet been enacted, the text reflecting amendments is also listed by the expected date of enactment.
National Diet Library Internet Materials Collection and Preservation Project (WARP) National Diet Library This is a project that preserves the websites of public institutions in Japan (national institutions, local governments, national, public and private universities, etc.). Sites that have permission from the sender are searchable and publicly available.
